Combilift has produced 50,000 of its customised handling solutions since the company was established 21 years ago. It recently delivered the 15,000th unit into the UK – an Aisle Master articulated truck supplied by Combilift dealer Briggs Equipment to the Sudbury, Suffolk, site of its customer Nestlé. About a third of all units manufactured so far by Combilift at its HQ in Monaghan have been shipped to the UK, confirming CEO and Co-founder Martin McVicar’s view that this country has always been, still is and will remain the most important market for Combilift amongst the 85 countries to which it exports. The specially painted silver Aisle Master model will be operating at Nestlé’s site in Sudbury. Nestlé already uses a number of Aisle Masters and Combi-CS pedestrian stackers in i
Everyone likes an anniversary and a success story, and no more so than Combilift. During the 21 years since the company was established in Monaghan with just a handful of employees, it has gone on to become one of the fastest growing forklift manufacturers in the world, and the global leader in its specialist field of long load handling solutions. The product range has grown significantly since the first C-series multidirectional Combilift was launched in 1998, and at least 30 different models are now available, all of which ensure safe, space saving and productive handling and storage. Combilift’s workforce at the global HQ and manufacturing facility now numbers around 650 – an increase of 100 since it was officially opened in May 2018. But an expanding company also depends on a

Combilift’s latest innovation, the Combilift Container Slip-Sheet (Combi-CSS), has been designed for quicker and easier mechanised loading of products (particularly long ones) into containers. First unveiled during Combilift’s 20th anniversary last year, this product is now in serial production. The Combi-CSS addresses the challenges associated with the combination of forklifts and manual labour often required for this application. Using a forklift to lift and manoeuvre the product laterally into the container and another forklift operator to push the load into the container from the end is time consuming and not overly efficient. Following the launch of the Combilift Straddle Carrier a few years ago, feedback from customers in the containe
Crown Imperial has recently overhauled and enhanced handling procedures at its Herne Bay headquarters by bringing in a number of Combilift models to replace counterbalance and reach trucks that were previously used. PWE reports. The wide variety of raw materials and the varying dimensions of finished products that need to be moved around and stored at the 10,000m² production facility in Herne Bay, required versatile equipment, and store manager Bruce Whiting was also keen to reduce the level of ride-on forklift traffic, particularly in areas where a lot of other personnel are present. Taking advice from Jon Collett of materials handling consultants Mexmast, he looked at the Combilift range and found the ideal solution in the form of Combi-WR4 multidirectional pedestrian stackers and
