A privately-owned company founded in 1981, Mawsley Machinery Ltd supplies construction equipment and services to its customers. The IFOY organisation has announced the appointment of two new jurors. Ying Xu, Managing editor-in-chief of MM Logistics in China, and Matthias Rathmann, editor-in-chief of the German logistics newspaper trans aktuell, were newly elected to the jury. The IFOY jury now includes a total of 27 editors-in-chief of leading international logistics publications from 19 nations. In spring 2020, they will again test and select the world’s best new publications among intralogistics products and solutions. A new report shows that by sharing equipment, the rental industry contributes to avoiding carbon emissions. The report, commissioned by the European Rental Association (ERA), found that efficient use lowers the total carbon footprint of equipment and that the rental business model stimulates efficient use. Depending on specific user practice, ERA estimates that this can lead to significant reductions in the range of 30%, and sometimes over 50%. "Ten pieces of equipment, from several manufacturers, were selected to be analysed for the research to represent a wide variety of popular equipment categories, including earthmoving, materials handling, access, power and tool," according to the association.
